My Practice
I meet with patients via telepsychiatry and provide consultation, psychotropic medication treatment and psychotherapy informed by psychoanalytic principles and relational perspectives. If I determine that the challenges you are facing would benefit more from a psychotherapy or other treatment that I do not provide, I will offer information on how to get access to a clinician/or other treatment setting that can potentially be more helpful to you.
Initial Consultations
The Initial consultation appointment is when we define the problems in-depth and ultimately decide whether to continue the evaluation process, initiate medication treatment or to refer the patient to another mental health provider or higher level of care.This visit time lasts up to 50 minutes.
Follow-Up Appointments
Primarily for Medication Management and usually last up to 25 minutes, but occasionally for 45 minutes. If for Medical Psychotherapy – these appointments usually last for 45 minutes.Emergencies
DR. ATKINS DOES NOT PROVIDE URGENT CARE EMERGENCY SERVICES.
If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, immediately call 911 or immediately go to your nearest hospital emergency room.
Appointments & Cancellations
With the exception of serious emergencies, it is expected that you keep your appointments. If you need to reschedule an appointment, it is necessary that you advise the office at least 24 hours in advance. Your consideration in this matter will allow me to accommodate other patients who could benefit from an appointment.
